First of all, in no way is this post glorifying North Korea.
But there’s something so mystical about it. The secrecy, how desperate the regime is to craft a narrative to the outside world, and how equally desperate it is to shield its population.
And yet… North Korea is not the same as it once was. Yes, there’s still lots of poverty, cruelty, and horrible stuff going on. But have you seen Pyongyang these days?
