Drew Carey moved from Cleveland to Los Angeles to try to get onto The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson, and for 18 months he lived out of his car before he got on the show. He eventually booked a spot with Johnny and was so good that he earned a place on Carson’s couch after his set.
