In 2005, Rick Moranis released an album of country songs entitled The Agoraphobic Cowboy, which received a Grammy nomination for Best Comedy Album.
Moranis told NPR, “The whole thing was sort of a lark…. They were inspired, really, by my kids… A couple of years ago, they started listening to a lot of bluegrass and alternative country. But they just got me hooked and the music just got under my skin. I had little bit of a background in it ’cause I had actually been a country music deejay many, many years ago in Toronto for a short while.”
