It’s fair to say we are currently experiencing a very solid era for horror films. Sure, a lot of that has to do with fresh writing, and directors who are willing to take risks.
But a large part of what makes good horror great, is the costume department. There are full teams of SFX and make-up artists whose job is literally to scare the piss out of their audience.
