35 years later ‘Days of Thunder’ still a banger of a sports flick

Now back in 1990, Days of Thunder was pretty much a flop. It brought in $157 million at the box office against a budget of $60 million. After Don Simpson, Jerry Bruckheimer, and Tony Scott struck gold with Top Gun four years earlier, this just seemed like a sure-fire hit. It wasn’t.
But time heals and as most films are wont to do, Days of Thunder found its audience.
