The Alien franchise has become a Rorschach test of sorts for horror fans. Alien: Romulus marks the seventh entry in the series (the ninth if you include Alien vs. Predator and Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem), and asking fans to rank their favorite entries reveals what it is that they love about movies in general, let alone horror films.
Do you rank Aliens ahead of Alien? Do you think that films like Prometheus and Alien: Covenant are underrated tales of creations and destruction? Do you vibe with the nihilistic tone of Alien 3, or think its “Assembly Cut” significantly improves a flawed gem? And do you think that Alien: Resurrection is a ton of fun?
(For the record, I’m very much on board with Alien 3’s “Assembly Cut,” I love that movie.)
These aren’t just questions that will speak to what kind of horror fan you are, but will speak to how much you’ll enjoy Alien: Romulus. For the most part anyway.
