The 93rd Academy Awards air tonight with another long list of nominated films that frankly, no one has even watched. While we have seen some big films like The Godfather take home best picture in the past, it seems that more indie films are winning the awards just so the Academy can flaunt that they are “more cultured” than the rest of society. Let’s be real though, we all know they are full of shit. As we enter another year of obscure films, let’s look back at some of the most controversial Best Picture winners and the runner ups that were snubbed.
