We all have movies we have to watch in October. It’s the horror-movie season where we dig up our most beloved horror films, and my annual watch every year is John Carpenter’s The Thing. It is a straight-up masterpiece, a sci-fi horror film that has aged remarkably well due to fantastic performances, a skin-crawling idea for a movie monster, and some of the best make-up effects of all time to back it all up.
