Classic movies turning 40 in 2020 (12 GIFs)

As we creep ever closer into the future, one thing I’m not going to get used to is the idea that movies that came out in 1980 are turning 40 this year. A few of my favorite movies of all time come from the 1980s, and that mere concept is starting to break my brain (and let me tell you, when we get to 2022 and The Godfather officially becomes half a century old, I’m going to pass out on the spot).
With that in mind, here are some of the greats that are hitting 40 (and, if I’m being honest, some oddball choices that deserve another look).
