You can find some of your favorite actors drinking it. From the crew of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia to Nick Miller on New Girl. Heisler is Hollywood’s most notorious fake beer and has gained the nickname “the Bud Light of fake beers.”
The beer is made by the Studio Graphics design team at Independent Studio Services. Heisler is one of 40 different beer labels the company has produced over the last 40 years. Product placement of alcohol in film and tv is hard, making fake beer ISS’ most popular design.
“Most of the time their product is being used in a way that’s not in the best light,” Molly Rummel, the assistant manager at Studio Graphics, told Thrillist. “No one’s drinking a beer and going to bed. That would be boring. People are drinking a beer and beating somebody up or getting drunk.” The joys of having a fake beer are the actors can do anything with it, without having to worry about tainting the brand.
