When we talk about the use of CGI, it’s usually to shit on an action film or a superhero movie where computer-generated imagery is totally unnecessary. We tend to forget that animation is technically CGI.
That being said, we’ve compiled the 20 highest ranked CGI movies according to the folks over at Rotten Tomatoes. Keep in mind this is not a ‘best CGI’ list. These are the highest ranked movies that just happen to use CGI.
However it is interesting to see how good the technology already was, and how far we’ve come.
