Today we lost Sir Ian Holm, the actor who played Bilbo Baggins in the Lord of the Rings. Sir Holm was an accomplished British actor whose long career included highlights such as Chariots of Fire and Alien. An iconic line he delivered beautifully portraying the character Ash in Alien was,
“I can’t lie to you about your chances, but… you have my sympathies.”
Well, the entire Holm family has our sympathies. Sir Holm played the older Bilbo, but to honor Holm’s adventure into the afterlife, we wanted to bring you facts from Bilbo Baggins’ greatest adventure – The Hobbit.
