Review: ‘The Yorkie Werewolf’ perfectly weaves modern horror with pooches and pasta
Not every film needs to open with a dying grandparent and a fart joke, but this one nails it. We first meet teenager and witch, Jenny as she’s dealing with her Wiccan grandmother’s fatal flatulence.
The movie sets itself up immediately in terms of tone. It’s that “get onboard now” attitude that makes this horror comedy such an entertaining piece.
The Yorkie Werewolf works so well because it is grounded in reality. Perhaps not our reality as we know it. But as absurd as the story gets at times, the characters still manage to keep their feet on the ground. That’s in large part thanks to Writer and Director, Michael DiBiasio.
