Star Wars fan who gave his life to tackle school shooter is honored by Lucasfilm (6 Photos)

Riley Howell is going to be remembered for a lot of things. For his girlfriend Lauren Westmoreland, he was a loving partner for six years. For his classmates at UNC Charlotte, he was a hero that tackled an active shooter, sacrificing his life to save students around him.
But everyone he knew him best knew him as a guy who, “loved Star Wars, birds, cards, snowboarding, going to the lake, Kentucky Hot Browns cooking from scratch with cast iron while listening to the Feel Good Classic Soul playlist, and his Lauren.”
