What makes a movie franchise great? Award winning performances? Breakneck action sequences? Good old fashioned T&A? Yes. But does that make it successful? Not necessarily. When it comes to movies, success isn’t really limited by one factor but a number of them, at least according to a recent study that analyzed movie franchises by box office revenue, profitability performance (box office earnings divided by budget), and scores from IMDb, Rotten Tomatoes, and Metacritic.
