So, a couple things before we dive into this.
You may notice that a few of these films did make more than their budget. But keep in mind that a film’s budget doesn’t take things like marketing into account, which can cost nearly as much as making the movie itself (as a good rule of thumb, if a movie doesn’t make double its own budget, it’s in some pretty deep shit, especially if it’s a blockbuster big-budget film).
Another thing is that some of these movies aren’t explicitly terrible, and just might be films people missed out on this year. (But to be completely honest, a couple of these are easily some of the worst movies of the year by far.)
