Some of these responses to the question of who is the nicest celebrity people have met are a little long, sure. But I figured we could use all the nice we can get in this world, so soak it up.

Here’s one of my favorites (besides Sir Christopher Lee, the king): during one of my gigs back in Hollywood, I had the chance to work with Jack Black, and to this day he’s one of the nicest people I met out there. I’ll never forget the first time I met him. I introduced myself and he put out his hand and kept shaking my hand as he repeated my name, in an effort to learn it. He was saying the wrong name, but still. It’s the thought that counts.
