I just rewatched The Outsiders last night and man, does that film ever hold up.
I’m pretty sure it was the first time I’d watched it since it was inevitably put on during English class back in high school, which doesn’t exactly make for an optimal viewing experience.
But rewatching it as an adult felt like a whole different movie. You start to realize that they’re all just kids, even the big tough ones like Darry and Dallas.
I think I’ll have to track down a copy of the novel and give that one another go. It’ll probably be a bit more enjoyable without an English teacher breathing down my neck.
