Jane Russell was one of old Hollywood’s biggest sex symbols in the 1940s and 50s.
Statuesque at 5’7”, Russell was taller than many of her thespian peers, and coupled with hourglass measurements of 38-24-36, she was a showstopper.
Russell’s most iconic role was opposite Marilyn Monroe in the 1953 blockbuster musical Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, where Russell’s beauty drew the eye, even while juxtaposed against her sexy co-star Monroe.
The raven-haired actress continued working through the 1960s and sporadically in the 70s and 80s. In 2009, Russell was voted one of the 40 Most Iconic Movie Goddesses by Glamour, and in 2011, the silver screen siren passed away at the age of 89.
