Bands aren’t built for forever. Tours grind you down, people change, and changing landscapes. It’s tough to stay relevant as musicians.

Streaming didn’t help. It rewired money, attention, and what “success” even looks like. Viral cycles got faster. Margins got thinner. Burnout got real.

We don’t know every backstory here—breakups, hiatuses, side projects, life—but the result’s the same: once-huge bands that drifted off into radio silence… (literally)

Here are some great bands and artists we miss from the turn of the century. Not so much one-hit wonders, more like bands that had steam but never really took off…
