The show depicted the Trump presidency, Disney buying 20th Century FOX, the Siegfried and Roy tiger attack… and then all of those things happened in real life. They even predicted the structure of the universe (Homer’s theory of the universe being donut-shaped has recently surged in popularity among astrophysicists). Nostradamus has nothing on The Simpsons. There are only two possible explanations for the cartoon’s seemingly supernatural abilities. A) A show rooted in cultural trends with 717 episodes over a 30+ year time span as well as several mini-storylines within each episode is bound to stumble its way into prophecy every now and then. Or B) Matt Groening is a time traveler. I’m leaning towards B.
