‘Discovery Zone’ Play Area Listed on FB Marketplace and My ‘90s Kid Heart Just Leapt

I think we as a society may have peaked with the creation of Discovery Zone – or ‘DZ’ as it was so lovingly called by any kid who passed through those doors.
If you’re unfamiliar, Discovery Zone was an entertainment facility that put McDonald’s PlayPlace to shame. It was founded in 1989 and caught on like wildfire.
In 1995, Blockbuster Video took over full management control. Discovery Zone would then go on to sponsor PBS’s Sesame Street. DZ would also sign a deal with Saban Entertainment so that play center locations could host Mighty Morphin Power Rangers actors in character. It was truly the wild, wild west of ’90s entertainment.
