Any 90s kid remembers the iconic adventures of Ash, Misty, Brock, and Pikachu in the original Pokémon TV show, but if they grew up in North America, they probably don’t remember one particularly electrifying episode.
Titled “Dennō Senshi Porygon” in Japan, which translates to “Computer Warrior Porygon” in English, the episode was the 38th of the anime’s first season. It broadcast in Japan on December 16, 1997, but was immediately pulled from rotation and would never be aired in other countries.
The reason? It was dangerous.
