All it took was one Saturday morning in the early 1990s.
Kelly Kapowski walked down the hallway of orange and red lockers at Bayside High, and I was hooked.
Watched every episode of Saved by the Bell afterwards, and didn’t even care for the show that much.
Screech was annoying, A.C. Slater was a douchebag, and Zack Morris had a creepy smile.
But man, Tiffani-Thiessen was an OG knockout.
Nobody warned me or prepared me for Kelly. One minute, I’m watching some fast-talking kid in California talking about basketball, and the next, I get a massive crush that I couldn’t even put into words.
(Full disclosure: Topanga was my first but Kelly hit different.)
I can’t be the only one.
This is an ode to Kelly. The girl who put the POW in Kapowski.
