That’s what I love about comedians. The intention isn’t to offend but to make people laugh.
Joan Rivers was a perfect example of comics saying what they needed to say to get a laugh.
For over 50 years, she walked out on stage and said the thing nobody else had the guts to say — about herself, about celebrities, about aging, about Hollywood, about all of it.
And she did it with a smile, a rhinestone blazer, and absolutely zero shame.
The woman got her first Tonight Show break in 1965, became the first female permanent guest host in the show’s history, sold out arenas into her 80s, and built a career that outlasted every single person who ever doubted her.
