The hilarious loophole that was fundamental to the premise of Air Bud must have been internalized by pets across the world, because there have been multiple instances of our furry friends trying to get in on the game-time action.
While it might not be ideal for those in charge of keeping the riff raff off of the field (or for those who have to catch said riff raff), it is clear by the crowd reactions that a momentary stoppage in play due to Dog Chasing Ball usually makes for an entertaining mid-game break.
