As cringe as it feels to look back on the internet fads of the 2010s (remember the mannequin challenge? Owling? Batmanning?) I will admit, there was something kind of fun about seeing the ridiculous things that people decided to lay face down on.
Not to be that old guy but I really do feel like the internet has changed since then. It has been a while since the entirety of meme culture latched onto one specific trend — thinks are kind of all over the place nowadays.
Whether or not the dissolution of internet monoculture is a bad thing is subjective, but if it stops people from falling seven stories to their deaths in an attempt to partake in an internet fad, maybe it is for the best.
Anyway, let’s take a quick trip back to 2010 and remember just how silly we all used to be.
