Anyone who has ever had to go through the humiliation ritual that is participation in a spelling bee knows that the English language is kind of bullshit.
What do you mean I before E except after C — or when you happen to be leisurely deceiving eight overweight neighbors.
…Just saying.
And that’s for those of us who speak English as a first (and only) language! I can only imagine the riddle it is for people learning it later in life.
So as easy as it is to laugh when we see some obviously misspelt sign, let’s give those signmakers a little grace, because we’ve all been there.
And sure, laugh anyway, because “March Potoa” is just objectively hilarious.
