In Nepal during the early 1900s lived one of the most terrifying and prolific ‘man-eaters’ in recorded history — a Bengal Tiger known as The Champawat Tigress. With her 436 confirmed (likely way more) kills, her propensity to attack and devour humans has been matched by few animals (save for Gustave the Nile Croc, who has yet to be caught) and had drastic measures not been taken she likely wouldn’t have quit until natural death. The attacks were so frequent and grisly that locals legitimately believed her to be multiple demons.
