A Danish museum gave an artist $84,000 to make them two pieces of modern art.
He did, but perhaps it was a bit too modern. Remember the guy that just taped the banana on the wall? This is like that, but maybe even to a more extreme extent.
The $84k was supposed to be part of the artwork, enclosed in the frame. Instead, artist Jens Haaning gave the museum two blank canvases titled “Take the Money and Run” in exchange for the $84,000 sum.
It’s a commentary on Denmark’s living wages and on modern art as a whole.
“The work is that I have taken their money,” Haaning said to a Danish public broadcaster.
