My mom is European. She’s from Czech Republic, and every time we used to travel to Prague, she’d take us to Karlštejn — an insane 677-year-old gothic castle.
(I was there this past December, it’s still an architectural marvel.)
But you don’t have to have a Czech mom to appreciate medieval history and castles.
Honestly, I think they’re the most underrated things human ever built.
Turns out castles weren’t just cool to look at. They were engineered death traps, full of deliberate tricks designed to kill anyone who didn’t belong there.
