Now you know we stay away from all things politics here at the Chive, but I hope you’ll see that this was all in good fun.

Fifth grader, Alexa Cardona, was attending Nassau County’s Annual Fourth of July parade when a video of her went viral. A long standing tradition of the parade is throwing water balloons, a reported 2,000 made for this year’s festival.

The video shows Alexa throwing a water balloon and hitting County Exec Bruce Blakeman square in the back of the head from the side of the road. Blakeman took the hit like a champ and Alexa walked away beaming. Like I said, all in good fun.
