And there’s something we came across that’s a little chilling. In interviews with the Duffer Bros, they’ve mentioned that when they sold the show to Netflix, it was originally titled “Montauk.’ Before the location got shifted to Indiana, the show was going to take place out at the far eastern end of Long Island, where the brothers found their inspiration, and a real-life ‘Stranger Things’ may have transpired. The whole concept of putting the show in the 80’s wasn’t only because of nostalgia for their youth, but because back in 1983, the US military was conducting the same kinds of experiments we saw on the show, and many more.
