The general public is relatively well-educated on 20th century wars. You’ve got WWI, WWII, the Vietnam War, the Gulf Wars (if you count that as the 20th century).
The Korean War very often gets forgotten, perhaps because it happened in distant lands, but mostly because it gets lost among all the conflicts that happened around the same time.
Of course, America was very, very involved.
And definitely shaped the way the entire world is today.
