“How come the Vikings didn’t conquer on the same scale as the Romans or the Mongols?”
This is a question I have been thinking about recently that led me to a podcast or two all about Vikings, and the only real conclusion I came to was… they were badass.
They didn’t NEED an empire focused on imperialist ambitions. Instead, all they needed was a boat, an axe, and the shores of England to make their short but infamous mark on history.
