The Battle of Hastings, East Sussex, England
Faught on October 14th, 1066, this bloody battle was a clash between the Duke of Normandy, the Norman-French army of William, and an army commanded by Anglo-Saxon King Harold Godwinson. It was the beginning of the Norman conquest of England and resulted in a clear Norman victory.
