29-year old Philidelphia native, Tessa Snyder, decided to share with the world a difficult time in her life that resulted from a life-threatening scare. When she was just 11 years old she was diagnosed with bone cancer. Doctors told Tessa that in order to increase her chances of survival she would have to have her leg amputated above the tumour.
The surgery and following chemotherapy was a success, and ultimately Tessa beat the cancer, however, the physical and mental scars left from that day would take much longer to heal.
