Mom with Terminal Cancer Has Touching Final Wish
Sometimes life is shorter than expected, and you have to make do with whatever time you have left. That is exactly what Casey McIntyre decided to do with her final days.
The 38-year-old, Brooklyn mother announced on social media that she was not sure how much time she had left due to having stage 4 ovarian cancer. In a final act of a kindness, she had just one wish for those that hear her story.
“To celebrate my life, I’ve arranged to buy up others’ medical debt and then destroy the debt. I am so lucky to have had access to the best medical care at [Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center] and am keenly aware that so many in our country don’t have access to good care,” McIntyre said on Twitter. She linked to her donation page in her post.
