humanity 0 Liked! 0 Disliked 0 Stay Home: an urgent message from healthcare workers on the frontlines of the coronavirus outbreak by: Staff In: Heroes, Humanity, Inspirational Mar 23, 2020 0 Liked! 0 Disliked 0 1 As the coronavirus continues to spread rapidly, people are urged now more than ever to stay indoors. Cases are multiplying by the day. New reports are saying that up to 40% of US hospitalizations are people between the ages of 20 and 54. Yet throngs of us are still venturing outside, due to either recklessness or a job that forces us to do so. Most of us can’t do anything about the latter, so if you’re in charge of people where you work, do the right thing and let them work from home. And if you already can work from home but you’re still not quarantining (a house party with 10 people doesn’t count as a quarantine) then quit being selfish and stay the fuck inside. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Think about the grandmas. Think about the vulnerable people you give back to through Chive Charities. This is not a media hoax for views. These are real scientists giving us real figures. And real people dying. Healthcare workers around the world are sharing photos of their faces marked and even bloodied from wearing N95 protective masks for long hours, as well as stories of them taking on the coronavirus from the frontlines. They’re overworked. Exhausted. Forced to make horrible decisions about who lives and who dies in hospitals overstuffed and under-equipped. Many of them are falling ill themselves. If the numbers won’t keep you indoors, maybe their faces will. Like this post? 0 Liked! 0 Disliked 0
