Last weekend my older brother Rick and I were boating on a lake where we dropped anchor at a sandbar to enjoy a drink and take in the summer vibes. We were surrounded by happy families who had nothing on their minds but having a good time, and living life to its peak with those they love. People playing catch. People swimming with their dogs. People jamming out to tunes like ‘Little Pink Houses’ by Johnny Cougar. It was all perfectly serene. And it was in this moment that Rick and I got to thinking, these folks’ heads are a million miles away from anything election-related right now. Everyone seemed to be celebrating life in harmony with the collective in perfect contentment. And to be honest, it was pretty damn refreshing.
