How many times in your life have you thought to yourself, “Gee, I sure wish I knew how to build a deck” or “If only I could balance my bank account” or how about “I hate that I don’t know how to create spreadsheets and Powerpoints for the workplace”? There are a great number of skills I think we all wish we learned when we were growing up during our school years. And yet, many of us took courses that were 100% worthless to any foundation we could ever need in our lives.
Hell, I remember in college I took both fencing and bowling electives. Don’t get me wrong, they were a blast, but how worthless are classes like that and so many others that are mandated on students that we could do without in our schools?
