US cities with the oldest homes [and how expensive they’ve become] (16 Photos)
Thinking about buying that old historic fixer-upper you’ve had your eye on? It’s so ancient it’s got to be fairly priced right? Well, think again.
A recent study by the home buyer site, Sundae, found the US cities with the oldest homes. Although the US is less than 300 years old, Sundae found that the homes in some cities boast median ages that date back nearly a century.
To find the median year of home construction and the median overall age of the homes in each city, Sundae analyzed public tax assessor records and real estate listing data for residential houses in the largest 660 markets.
Now back when they were originally built, homes had a reasonable asking price but when compared to today’s standards, prices may leave you shocked. Here are the top 15 cities with the oldest homes and the median average cost of a home in today’s market.
