First off, I already apologize for the tacky title of this gallery. I become my father more with each passing day. That being said, looking at these retro images from the 1931 book entitled Elektroschutz in 132 Bildern (Electrical Protection in 132 Pictures), really illustrates just how much more dangerous our own infrastructure was not so long ago. For example, if someone grabbed the base of a lamp today and was electrocuted as people were so easily back then I can only imagine the avalanche of deaths & lawsuits that would ensue.
I digress. Enjoy a taste of terrifying electrical dangers from 1931…
