It has been 31 years to the very day that Windows 95 released to the public. If you were around that fabled day, you might remember the commercial featuring The Rolling Stones “Start Me Up” that accompanied the release, or perhaps the iconic start up sound composed by Brian Eno.
Or maybe it was the $200+ price tag (equivalent to about $440 today!) that really cemented itself in your memory.
No matter what sense of nostalgia Windows 95 evokes for you, there’s no denying that it was an iconic staple of the 90s, and a herald of the internet era that would soon follow.
