A “dingus” and a “dunderhead” both get the job done. But they land harder (and funnier) than plain old “stupid.” Some vintage English terms deserve to make a comeback.

Picture it: your buddy drafts a cursed fantasy lineup. Instead of “you’re an idiot,” you go, “Sir, your fantasy team is balderdash.” Same message, ten times more composed, like delivering a roast in a tux.
