At some point, adulthood became a suspiciously elaborate version of summer camp. Only now, instead of a bunk bed and a counselor blowing a whistle, we get luxury accommodations, spa treatments, gourmet meals and someone charging us thousands of dollars to make friendship bracelets.
Across retreats, wellness resorts, spas and actual adult camps, grown adults can now spend their days making crafts, playing board games, swimming, petting goats, watching movies, throwing axes and gathering around campfires. Some places even have bowling alleys and private movie theaters.
Honestly, the only thing missing is a laminated schedule taped to our cabin door.
