Some days you just want to sit down, crack a beer, and chat it up. I don’t know how I got so lucky, but my interview with Melis AKA TheGirlWithBeer was exactly that.
The world-traveler, lifter, and beer connoisseur was kind enough to share her experience with breweries, bullies, and trips abroad.
We may have even popped a bottle of decade-old KCCO lager…
Zach: Right off the bat, you have the coolest job in the world. You get to travel, you get to shoot content, and you get to drink beer. Can you just tell us how this all started for you?
Melis: Yeah, I actually have another account, MelisAroundTheWorld. My niche over there was more fitness and beauty and travel and lifestyle. I started posting about beer because I had an interest in it, and I was traveling to different cities in the U.S. and trying out different breweries.
My audience was like, “Why do you keep posting about beer like this? Are you an alcoholic?” And a friend of mine said there’s a bunch of girls who actually do beer content. So I was like, “Oh, I could just switch to a new account” – that’s what I did.
