Imagine winning olympic gold – arguably the most sought after trophy in all of sports – and your legacy is a viral meme. Now obviously that’s not entirely true for McKayla Maroney, who is celebrating her 29th birthday today.
The Olympian gymnast represented Team USA at the 2012 Summer Olympics as a member of the “Fierce Five.” The team featured Gabby Douglas, Aly Raisman, Jordyn Wieber, and Kyla Ross. That’s iconic no matter how you try to spin it.
But when you meet the President of the United States, and even he understands the internet reference…you kind of have to embrace it.
