The Dictionary Goes Full Gen-Z with Newly Added Words… (GIFS)
Hold on to your scroll thumbs, Cambridge Dictionary just went full Gen-Z on us and slapped 6000 new words into it’s shelves in the past year. Yes, 6 thousand. No, we’re not going to cover them all.
In addition to the new words, the dictionary has also added phrases like “red flag” and “work wife.” Not sure why “red flag” wasnt’ in there already…
It’s not every day you get to see words like skibidi and delulu make their way into the Cambridge Dictionary. We only add words where we think they’ll have staying power Colin McIntosh, Cambridge Dictionary’s lexical program manager, said in a release.
