It all started when M&M took away the green M&M’s sexy boots in a rebrand. People (mostly jokingly) demanded that they give her her slutty little boots back.
Then, a purple M&M was introduced. That’s when all hell really broke loose with people assuming the M&M’s gender/sexuality. Some people were excited about what it might be. Others were angry. The whole thing was just a shitshow.
